Height of Madness

I was so angry last Friday. I have a "very touchy" blog entry about it but I don't think it's for public viewing. At least, not yet. Maybe when I am ready to share it with everyone I'll just post it. I had to get away from home for a while, so I ended up spending time and sharing a couple of bottles of beer with my friends from work.

For Better or For Worse

You Are A Professional Girlfriend!

You are the perfect girlfriend - big surprise!
Heaven knows you've had enough practice. That's why you're a total pro.
If there was an Emily Post of girlfriends, it would be you.
You know how to act in every situation ... to make both you and your guy happy.

You deserve someone better...

...One of the most bullshit reasons I've ever heard.

Why?

...because he could have been better if he tried to

...and it could have been me if he just wanted to.

I miss...

(a.k.a. The Wholesome List)

... listening ears when I rant/rave
... sturdy shoulders to lean on
... kisses on my forehead
... "I love you" whispers in my ear
... the hand that fits perfectly when held
... the silly jokes
... not needing to always talk because the company will suffice
... smiling WHILE listening to love songs
... that protective tug/hug
... the friendship
... the simple and low-budgeted dates
... the shopping "moments"
... the easy-to-please attitude
... the mature insights
... the patience to my moods
... being imperfect AND not giving a damn about it
... him

I have been feeling down in the dumps lately. There's more where that came from but I think I'm bordering pathetic now.

This too shall pass.

Life goes ever on and on...

P.S.
In case you're wondering if there exists "The Naughty List", the answer is yes. Party, anyone? :)

I'm beffudled.

I passed the opportunity for a quality analyst position at work but some people, of whom I am grateful for, encouraged me to try, so I passed a letter of intent for the supervisory position instead. Weird huh? Oh well. In the next few weeks, my schedule at work is going to change. I may not have my usual weekends off because of my OJT and aside from thinking about the new reponsibilies I'm going to handle at work, I am also worried that it may affect the geeky July sched I have been looking forward to for the past months:

July 10 - my birthday! Yatta!
July 11 - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie launch
July 14 and/or 15 - tentative New Worlds Alliance 5 Sci-Fi and Fantasy Convention
July 21 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book launch

I have been up and about these last few weekends attending meetings/parties and just preparing for the coming month... but I may not be there to experience it. Since the next convention's schedule has not been confirmed yet, I feel like I'm in a daze because I cannot do anything to adjust my schedule just in case I can still do something about it. Most people may not understand where I'm coming from and I know I have to set my priorities straight, but it's gonna be the saddest July I've ever had if I won't be able to do something about this. I don't have a specific passion and the NWA is the closest place I could find where I feel I truly belong. I've attended all 4 conventions and I don't want this year to be the first time I wouldn't be able to attend.

Yesterday, I caught an hour's sleep after work and found my way to a friend's place to attent TPTS's 5th Anniversary Party/moot. There was food, stories, discussions and a newbie too! We had fun. Hobbits dig parties! I have to say we made some progress with regards to planning our booth for the convention (I told you, I'm really looking forward to it.) I'm gonna miss the next few meetings and preparation because of my work sched, so I'm making the most out of it. After that, I came with a couple of friends to Fandom Cafe for a belated birthday celebration of one of our friends. Pictures here at Nick's album.

In other news, a special edition Harry Potter cover has been released and there are more clues Potterheads can uncover this time. Click here to view the article.

Trying...

Sometimes the best isn't enough.

You Have Good Manners 67% of the Time

Your manners are quite excellent. You are well versed in etiquette.
Of course you have the occasional slip up, but you even apologize with grace.

Lately, my manners are missing. These aren't just the occasional slip-ups. I noticed that I have been lashing back at some hapless victim, usually a friend or family member, as if I were some trapped animal. I guess that's what I am-- trapped. I'm just glad they (hopefully) understand. I apologize if you were one of those I have been impatient with for the past few days.

Guys Like That You're Sensitive

And not in that "cry at a drop of a hat" sort of way
You just get most guys - even if you're not trying to
Guys find it is easy to confide in you and tell you their secrets
No wonder you tend to get close quickly in relationships!

No, I am not ready for another relationship. Yes, I am trying to convince myself that. A crush is just a crush. Nothing more. Nothing less. To those who are curious as to what happened to the 4-year "relationship", here are snippets of the song that closely describes what I'm feeling right now.

I've been up, down, tryin' to get the feeling again
All around, tryin' to get the feeling again
The one that made me shiver
Made my knees start to quiver
...
Where did it run to? I thought I'd done all that I could
Just to keep the love light burnin'
But whatever I've done, guess I just haven't done it too good
'cause all that's left is
...
And I've looked high and low
And everywhere I possibly can
But there's no tryin' to get the feelin' again
It seemed to disappear as fast as it came
